Milestones and Events 2017
December: Craft Fayre Sat. 13th December
We held a Craft Fayre with RANK on Saturday 13th December. Despite the snowy weather it was a successful event with stallholders selling good-quality crafts, Santa's Grotto for the kids and RANK ran the tearoom, selling snacks, teas and coffees.
November: Work begins!
Work on the Project began with the windbreak wall being demolished...exciting times!
You can see photographs in the Photo Gallery.
Friday 6th October: Funding news...we did it!
We have been successful in being awarded funding from two major funders:
Highland Strategic Local Action Group, (The Highland Leader Fund) and Viridor Credits.
Details of these can be seen on our Grants Awarded page.
Our success in being awarded these Grants means that the refurbishment of the building can begin soon and the North Kessock Ticket Office Project will become a reality!
Our Awards from these funders entitle us to use the additional logos you can see at the foot of the page.
Friday 20th October 7.30pm : Quiz Night
The Quiz Night was a success with ten teams taking part. The Quizmaster this year was Graham Ross, Inverness Councillor and Depute Provost who did a great job with the Quiz questions made up by Alan McDiarmid and a local history round by Catherine Cumming and Elaine Jones.
The winners were 'Worthless Originals' 2nd after a tiebreak were 'Don't Wannabees' and 3rd were the 'Ballocheers.'
The wooden spoon, designed and engraved by Rolf Schmidt was awarded to 'Carefree.'
Thank you very much to the local businesses and individuals who donated generous raffle prizes.
In total we made £300 from team entries and the raffle.
Tues. 12th September : Public Meeting
Recycling bins relocation
About 35 people attended, including Black Isle Councillors, Community Councillors and local groups NKTOP, NKAA, and RANK.
The Community Council and NKTOP agreed the clothing bin should be removed and this has already been done. (October 2017)
The glass recycling bins are to be moved to the end of the proposed seaside garden area despite protest from residents living in sight and sound of the car park.
As no vote was taken on the night this is not acceptable to the residents. When this move is made, it will be regarded as temporary with temporary screening until a more suitable site is found.
GREAT NEWS!!
The transfer of the Pier building from the Highland Council to us has been completed! So we now own it after nearly 3 years of NKTOP being set up. The lease of the area of the car park for our seaside garden should be completed soon.
It's an exciting time for us after all our hard work. We look forward to seeing everyone when we hold a celebration there soon.
Saturday 19th August 11-3pm : Car Boot Sales:
This one was on the same day as the Lifeboat Open Day. The weather was cold, wet and windy! Despite this we made £50.00 from sales and donations. Thank you to those people who turned out to support us.
Saturday 29th July 9-12noon
This Car Boot Sale was very quiet, we didn't have many cars booked and the weather was cold and windy. We still made £53.00 for the Project. Thanks to everyone who donated unwanted goods, bought goods or donated money on the day.
Friday 20th October : Quiz Night:
The return of our now annual popular Quiz Night in the Village Hall, teams of four, bring a team!

We held a fundraising Car Boot Sale on Saturday 29th April in North Kessock Car Park.
